The Art of Skilled Facilitation @ Santa Teresa Spirituality Centre

The Program
The Art of Skilled Facilitation is designed to prepare those in various leadership capacities to develop and facilitate groups. Using an experiential learning approach, the theory of adult learning forms the basis of the workshop. The emphasis throughout is the practical application of theory to the practice of facilitation. The desired outcome is skill for the facilitator and empowerment for groups of adults.

Practicing the skills of the experiential model are central to the program and each participant will choose a topic, design a workshop and facilitate the group’s learning on that topic during the days spent together. Those completing this program will have the basic understanding of how to design and facilitate for adult groups as well as the confidence of having done so with a group of one’s peers. Receiving feedback on the effectiveness of the workshop facilitated is integral to the process.

The Participants
The Art of Skilled Facilitation is for those who lead others, facilitate groups or who are interested in facilitation and who wish to better understand and practice the art and skill of facilitating groups through experiential methods.

The Facilitator: Paula Sgherza
